Celebrating Adoption Ripon CA Manteca CA Pleasanton CA family photographer child photography natural light photographer

As a child, I always thought in the back of my mind that I’d adopt my children when grew up.  Admittedly, at the time, it was because I was deathly afraid of the pain of childbirth.  It was a huge fear.  I even used to pray that by the time I got to be an adult, they would have figured out a way for men to have babies.  Why couldn’t that be a thing?!  But as I got older, it became about a bigger reason.  To become a family with children who needed one.  Well, obviously, my life went a different way.  We had our own 2 beautiful boys, and have decided two children is enough for us at our age.  But I will ALWAYS have a soft spot for foster children and adoptive families.

So, I was overjoyed when a friend called asking if they could purchase a session as a gift for a family member who recently adopted 3 siblings!  (And since then, possibly a 4th baby.)    Amazing.

So Rose (the mom) called a few weeks later to set up their gift session and we met at Army Corps Park in Ripon.  They showed up looking adorable and SO well behaved.  When you’re planning a session with 4 kids under 5, “easy” isn’t the first word that usually pops into your head.  But, honestly, these little guys were so cooperative!   We got lucky with beautiful fall color that day that made for a great backdrop for their photos.   And it all happened in November..which is national adoption month.  How cool is that?!

Murphy family, it was an absolute pleasure photographing your family.  You’re living my childhood dream, and I feel blessed to have been a small part of your  official celebration of your new family.
